Fall into Winter:  2011 Schedule

Oh we are so ready for fall and winter. Tired of it being hot, waiting to bust out those scarfs and gloves. Perfect reading weather. Come check us out at one of the following:

2nd Saturdays in Silverlake: @ Silverlake Art, Craft & Vintage, brought to you by the gifted and talented people at ghettogloss.  A great flea market at Micheltorena School, we’ll be back in the great hipster capital on October 8th, November 12th, and December 10th with lots O’ books.

Buns, Books, and a Meal – Brown Bag Booktoberfest  7th Anniversary Celebration – Saturday, October 15th. We’re back at The Bus Stop in Running Springs to commemorate our ‘sticking to it’ for seven years. 7 years! Of bringing books to the people. If you’re in the area, stop by for a bite and let us say ‘thanks.’

(Redlands) Art on State Street, Sunday, November 27th. The Redlands Art Association puts on this market style, art show. This is our what… 7th year? We really like this local event. It’s a great chance to check out local artists, and us!

Operation Provider Craft fair, Twin Peaks, CA. Thanksgiving weekend, Black Friday! Nov. 25th & 26th. A nice show for a nice reason, up here in the mountains. Get your holiday shopping started…

UCR Bug Fair time! The Entomology department (that’s bugs people) puts on one of the nicest craft fairs this side of the Colorado River. We love this show almost as much as we love the honey they sell each year. And they have hot dogs. Thursday, December 1st, Entomology building court yard.

It’s fun to shop at the YMCA. It’s their annual craft show, Saturday and Sunday, December 3rd and 4th, 9 – 4? Redlands, holiday festivities, baked goods, journals, and our cool new ‘dis-cards’ made from the innards of the books we make into journals. Take that recyclers!

*Past things we’re proud of doing:

West Hollywood Book Fair.  This was is it! Brown bag books @ the West Hollywood Book Faire. We had been stock piling good reads, real good reads, saving them up for all the LA folks.  We’ll also have new rescued book journals and all the bookmarks you could possibly need. The coolest literary event this side of the Colorado River.

The Farmers Market at the Grove School, Saturdays from 8 to noon. Meh! We’re not able to get down the hill to attend at this time, but my goodness you should go! Possibly the best local farmer’s market, EVER! You’ve got some great produce to pick from.

Market Nights at Lake Arrowhead:

Too many times to mention The Bus Stop Coffee House. We’ve been neglecting our home town folks. Time to do it up bus stop style. The kids are playing soccer, we’re selling books.  As of summer 2011, **The Cafe has closed for the time being, but with a little luck (the hard work was already apparant), Terri will open her doors again, and we’ll be there with books on.

Where are all the cool kids waiting for the bus? Back to School Mania hits The Bus Stop. Have you not been to the Bus Stop to eat the delicious food and read the wonderful books? Then you need to! Bask under the wonderful ‘carnivalesque’ tent that Karl built before he takes it down. Sit there, eat, and think.
