A Portrait of a Lady - Henry James
Ahh... I remember fondly, the time when I went through a pretty serious Henry James period in my early 20's, butted right up next to the Edith Wharton period. This one was the starter - I love the description, 'she suddenly found herself rich and independent'. That is FUNNY to me now, but back then there was still hope, and done so well by James. And remember the movie with Nicole Kidman and Malkovich Malkovich? Yeeess! *This is a slightly unusual copy from the golden heritage series, in great shape.
