Bouvard et Pecuchet - Gustave Flaubert

It's been compared to Joyce's Ulysses, and I'm not sure (or very sure?), that that is a good thing. The last of Flaubert's novels seems to shatter all the conventions he invented with Madame Bovary. Vive La France, right?
