Kureishi had me back at My Beautiful Launderette when I was a teen longing to flee to London. Now I'm an adult person just wanting to leave the house... But! this is Kureishi's second novel, and deals with Muslin fundamentalism in a tumultuous London setting. The story has also gone from 'page to stage' which I just like saying it that way.
