Keegan hits it out of the park with this one, as the winning Booker prize attests to. It's a warm blanket of historical fiction of the Irish variety. Nuns, Catholics, family, grief, loss, outsiderness, all the sad things that mean something. I read this review that "Small Things Like These can be read as a feminist revision of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol." There we go. Stunning. New copy, found in Rotterdam.
