Hotel du Lac - Anita Brookner

If I could stay home and read one book from cover to cover I would choose this one. Brookner's ode to contemplation, longing, and great hotel lobbies is an entire mood, one that draws us in like soft lighting and velvet furniture. It won many prizes, naturally, and this one is brand new (because I thought I’d lost my copy, but I didn’t, thank goodness), found in the U.K.
