FANte Favorite! Dang it we love John Fante round these parts. Old Los Angeles in a nut shell. This one consists of two novellas, "My Dog Stupid" and "The Orgy." If you love Fante you'll love these two stories/this book, a cult classic indeed. If you don't love him, that's ok too. It's a really close to new book.
