Making people uncomfortable since 1955, damn this novel is just never far from view, is it? The debate continues, would it be published today? We would hope so. While it struggled to get published in its own time (and we know why), the question of 'should we still read it?' is a good one. We'd chime in with 'read anything that suits you', and also add that just because you read something doesn't mean you are one. I might read the news but that doesn't mean I care about politics, you know? *Interesting fact: it was not banned in the United States, but it was in Other Countries. This is a very gently worn copy with an odd little dent on the bottom lip - see the photo!
