Have you ever started a new book and realize oh, about five pages in that you've already read the story? This is that and I had. The story of a young Australian (like the author), navigating the complex history of Berlin with Nabokov as a kind of 'guide.' Probably a best read for those with a deep love of Berlin, or Nabokov whose short story collection A Guide to Berlin traces some of these same paths, but maybe with a bit more psycholigical punch.
