Flesh - David Szalay

We’re not the only one's who think this book is Top Shelf, obviously because it won the dang Booker prize in 2025.  We follow István, a young Hungarian boy (when we meet him), into adulthood and the places and faces he encounters. Some kind of alchemy happens when Szalay writes, and we feel both sorry for István, and surprised? Disappointed? Proud? All the feels at once, don't know how he did it but we’re glad he did. This was a 'Couldn't put it down' novel, top for 2025. *Slight bend on upper right corner, see photo, otherwise brand new.
