The Colossus of Maroussi - Henry Miller

Such a vivid description of Greece when it wasn't Instagrammed to death. Don't get me wrong we love the IG, but I long for the times when everyone was enjoying the sights, senses, and feelings of the place they were visiting, rather than trying to make the impression of it something it wasn't (slight rant!). Henry Miller's Greek travelogue is just that - a guide to a place where few had been or recorded, and for him a rebirth of sorts before he returns to America, post Europe jaunt. Oh Henry we love you.
